My Teeth Are Gone

Actually, just four of them. And they’re wisdom teeth.  I had heard many bad things about the pain, bleeding, and swelling.  So far, however, a few hours after the surgery, things aren’t bad at all.  True, my mouth has been bleeding since then, and I can’t feel my tongue or cheek, but it’s not painful at all.

When I sat down in the doctor’s chair, the nurse immediately put a nitrous hose over my nose.  The following conversation must have been hilarious, because the combination of my limited sleep the night before and the nitrous caused me to slowly become more and more relaxed, which meant that talking “football” with the doctor must have been quite funny.

Then he loaded me up with actual anaesthetic, and then next thing I knew, I was waking up to a numb mouth.  Oh yeah, and I bit the nurses hand when she tried to put gauze in my mouth.  It was funny even then.

So anyway, just thought I’d let you know what’s going on at the moment.  If I don’t blog in the next few days, it’s simply because the pain kicked in.

Happy New Year!
