Come On, Tomas!

I’m sorry I have to do this, but I’m going to go off on a quick rant today.

As you may know, I’m a big Slax (pocket Linux operating system) fan.  In fact, up until recently, I liked everything to do with Slax.  The website was fresh, the guy who ran it (Tomas), seemed like a pretty neat guy, it’s an amazingly small and reliable pocket OS, etc.

However, it is my belief that, as a general rule, people should keep their religious and political views outside of their secular, non biased occupations.  To borrow something that Bob Parsons, Founder of GoDaddy, talked about in one of his podcasts, I read almost all books – except those that bash the country, and those that bash God.

But actually, I have no problem with people writing those books.  That’s freedom of speech.  However, I have a problem when I go to get information on my favorite software, only to find the following at the bottom of every page on the site.

Would you kill for your God? God does not exist! Face it!

First of all, let’s be just a little classy, shall we?  Are we really going to “slap” every Christian in the face that comes to enjoy your product? Leaving my own religious views out of this, I’d have to say that not only am I dissapointed, but I have a completely different view of the entire project now.

So, Tomas, let’s learn a lesson here and stick to what you do best – creating great pocket operating systems.  Or, here’s an idea, get a blog like the rest of us!
